Hybrid and Flexible Working

Our hybrid working culture offers the ability to embrace a work-life balance, allowing you to collaborate and connect in the office or to enjoy focused work from the comfort of your home. We also offer a range of more formal flexible working options to suit the needs of our colleagues.

Pension Contributions

Staff have the option to pay into either an Aviva GPP or a Amicus SIPP. Amicus pay a contribution via a salary exchange scheme – staff exchange either 1.5 %/ 2% of their salary and Amicus will contribute 7.5% / 8% to the pension.

Training & Qualifications

Upon completing probation, every permanent staff member will have access to online training modules and the ability to study for qualifications relevant to their role. Additionally, our Amicus Academy offers informal learning sessions throughout the year to enhance skills/knowledge of colleagues.

Enhanced Parental Leave

We offer enhanced parental leave for all new parents, including adoption, maternity, paternity and shared parental leave. Colleagues who have reached one year's service are entitled to 26 weeks of maternity leave at full pay and then 13 weeks of Statutory Maternity Pay (SMP). Paternity leave is paid at three weeks' full pay for staff with no eligibility requirement.

Discretionary Bonus

To reward exceptional performance and contribution to the business, staff who have passed probation are eligible for our annual discretionary bonus, dependent on Amicus and individual performance.

Annual Leave

Our annual leave runs from January to December, and staff receive 27 days of annual leave, plus UK bank holidays. Please note, this is pro-rated for staff who join part-way in the year/work part-time.

Other financial benefits

We benchmark our salaries every year to ensure they remain competitive and fair. Your pay reflects your experience and the responsibilities you take on, recognising the value you bring to your role.

All staff have access to employer funded health cover, designed to support your physical and mental wellbeing.

Staff absent from work for 13 weeks continuously can claim under our income protection policy, which a proportion of the individual’s salary until they return to work, or a maximum of 5 years.

If a member of staff dies, their nominated beneficiary will receive a lump-sum payment equal to four times their salary.

We offer Give As You Earn, making it easy to give regularly – and tax-effectively – to any UK charity of your choice, directly through your pay.

Other health and wellbeing benefits

All staff have access to a confidential 24/7 helpline, offering support and guidance on a wide range of personal and work-related matters.

We’ll contribute up to £25 each year towards a standard eye test for all staff, and a further £50 towards glasses needed for VDU use.

Each colleague can take one full day, or two half days, of volunteer leave each year to support local, national or international community organisations. You can use this time individually or join with your team to make a collective impact.

We offer fertility leave to give colleagues the time and flexibility they need when undergoing fertility treatment. We also recognise the emotional impact of miscarriage and stillbirth, which is why we provide one week of fully paid leave for both partners in the sad event of a loss before the 24th week of pregnancy.
